GENERAL PATTON AS NEW THOUGHT FAITH LEADER
I'm adding George S. Patton to my presentation of New Thought leaders. His faith was born of experience with memory and purpose. Past lives were accepted as a given. He saw his purpose as a continuation of what he had done before. Mission does not end when there is purpose in a continuation. Destiny and Fate are permutations of what one has as a given duty and what one does to take action on that duty. Conditions, luck, and resolve are situations of faith. A profound faith that is not limited by opinions or dogma or how one is expected to think.
The clear distinction between Orlog and Wyrd as representing Fate and Desiny (respectivley) is something I've tried to clarify, but I owe this representation to Robert Blumetti. Orlog is the fate you are given by generational and civilizational past actions. Wyrd is the web you weave within that fate to form a destiny of your own choice and effort. My father was visited by General Patton on the field of battle. What I learned from his telling the significance to a Third Army mortar infantryman has been valuable to me.

From a conversation he initiated with a Third Army chaplain :
"Chaplain, I am a strong believer in Prayer. There are three ways that men get what they want; by planning, by working, and by Praying. Any great military operation takes careful planning, or thinking. Then you must have well-trained troops to carry it out: that's working. But between the plan and the operation there is always an unknown. That unknown spells defeat or victory, success or failure. It is the reaction of the actors to the ordeal when it actually comes. Some people call that getting the breaks; I call it God. God has His part, or margin in everything, That's where prayer comes in. Up to now, in the Third Army, God has been very good to us. We have never retreated; we have suffered no defeats, no famine, no epidemics. This is because a lot of people back home are praying for us. We were lucky in Africa, in Sicily, and in Italy. Simply because people prayed. But we have to pray for ourselves, too. A good soldier is not made merely by making him think and work. There is something in every soldier that goes deeper than thinking or working--it's his "guts." It is something that he has built in there: it is a world of truth and power that is higher than himself. Great living is not all output of thought and work. A man has to have intake as well. I don't know what you call it, but I call it Religion, Prayer, or God."
I am not of the same faith as Patton was in terms of Christianity-formed institutions. I think we could all do with a little more of his experienced and carefully philosophized belief. Where field of combat starts and results are shown is where the ancient trajectory to New Thought is proven in life.
THE ORIGINATING PREMISE OF ANCIENT WAYS TO NEW THOUGHT
The originating premise of Ancient Ways to New Thought was that a primal purpose evolved through adjustments made to Christian mandates - - and improve Christianity. The most important philosophical, psychological, and historical source is "The Germanization of Early Medeival Christianity" by James C. Russell. Ancient Ways to New Thought is how I describe the survival of Primordial Tradition following the centuries featured in Russell's book.
The Primordial arrival of human life on the planet precedes by far any Biblical or discernible Germanic myth as a probable initial state. Yet, these truths are alluded to in ways we can understand. So something in Hyperborean legend may have considerable to say about whence we came and our trajectory.
