CREATING BEAUTY WITH IMAGINATION AND KNOWLEDGE

 

 

 Live in the world you created with your Greater Self.  Your greater self is not separate from you, but sometimes we have separated the minor self.  Practical and fun work here if you stay with me for a bit.  

I dreamed of a 1959 Pontiac and woke up sensing it was connected to the question I asked about my creativity.  Body by Fisher is a phrase you recognize if you are (or were) a fan of General Motors in their best era.  The Fisher company began as a builder of coaches for horse-drawn carriages.  Two Fisher brothers began with financing by their uncle in the carriage business to begin building coaches for automobiles.  The two elder brothers then brought their five younger brothers into the business.

At first they built frame bodies for auto companies that  included  Buick, Cadillac, Chalmers, Chandler, Chevrolet, Ford, Hudson,  Oldsmobile, Packard, Pontiac, Regal,  Studebaker and others. But they eventually became known for their iconic General Motors designs and style.

The thriving company only served what they created of the business for the GM market, but like all things creative, they did not control or create the entire market.  

This is the De Soto uniframe invented to eliminate rattles and make a stronger body.  I was a MoPar guy so Chrysler products were my thing.  Notice that 1959 was the height of the large tail fins in autos but the Pontiac and Oldsmobile were slightly more subdued.  I still want a 1959 Cadillac.  

Why am I mentioning this as relevant to creative worlds as instructed in my dream?  Stay with me on this and we'll see.

STUART KAPLAN AND THE TAROT CARDS

Less obvious in the designs of daily life were a creation of an alternative culture iconography in the form of cards.  Creation of a sub-cultural influence through business is exemplified by Stuart Kaplan who saw some Tarot cards while in Europe looking for presents for his children. When he brought them home they fascinated him.   Not yet available from United States production, he thought of making and selling the Waite-Rider deck here.  They were a huge success in sales and created a culture that was synonymous with many aspects of a rising Cosmic culture. Cards in general became the business of U.S. Games Systems Inc which expanded into a major publisher.  

How are cards manufactured with high quality is the question I ask myself.  What is the manufacturing process and how is that advanced in today's technology?  

The answer is on several online articles about the card publishing process.   Much to learn there.  

A note on how niche publishing businesses marketed a change in the sub culture.   Llewellyn Publications began by publishing astrology books, almanacs, and gardening and planting books.  They then published the first books on English magical orders like The Golden Dawn.  From there they virtually created a market for Wicca and some Feminist world-views that reached a small but adamant readership.  

At first, I fit in with the Llewellynist trajectory.  But that was a deficiency on my part.  If I had succeeded and focused on creative power in construction and men's prospects like the Mannerbund, I would have been way ahead.  Live and learn.  

The political machinations of a gathering non-binary, (multi-something or other) , equalitarian and obedient world lockdown masking mandate madness.  Llewellyn had magic back in my day.  I still hold out hope for U.S. Games Systems  for their magical beginning.  

 You know, I've really gone negative with this post.  I will do better because at the level of the Greater Self  -which was the theme here at the beginning- there is not that much need for concern.  Live in your real power today and it is yours.
